Inspired by the New Urbanism movement, Peter Gilgan, founder of Mattamy Homes, saw an opportunity to create something unique; a departure from the blandness and uniformity of current new home communities. Passionate about design and architecture, Gilgan and his team were trusted to build a home for the first customer in 1978. Now, as North America’s largest privately owned homebuilder, Mattamy Homes is proud to build homes for more than 7,000 families each year. From the beginning, our vision and promise has remained the same: to create thoughtfully designed homes and communities that reflect the needs of the families living in them and that will ensure a lifetime of happiness for each. Since 2003, we have had the privilege of building homes and communities that embrace the vibrant and rich lifestyle throughout the United States.
