Known for its excellent public schools, diversity, strong job market, and many natural resources, Osceola County in Central Florida is considered one of the best counties in the state for families. Osceola County is part of the Orlando–Kissimmee–Sanford metro area.

Created in 1887, Osceola County is the south/central boundary of the Central Florida Region and the Greater Metropolitan Area. Its county seat is Kissimmee and sits just 18 miles south of Orlando. St. Cloud, the only other incorporated city in the county, is 9 miles to the east of Kissimmee and 45 miles west of Melbourne, which sits on the Atlantic Coast. In addition to Kissimmee and St. Cloud, this area also features unincorporated communities like Buenaventura Lakes and Poinciana. Outside of this popular urbanized area around northwest Osceola, the county is dominated by woodlands, marshland, prairies, and ranches to the east and south. There are many small rural towns throughout the county as well, including Yeehaw Junction, Kenansville, and Holopaw.

Although Osceola's economy relies heavily on tourism, as the county serves as the gateway to Disney World and other Florida attractions, ranching, citrus crops, light industrial, and service industries all contribute to the county's strong job market. There are several protected natural gems in Osceola, including the Herky Huffman/Bull Creek Wildlife Management Area, which offers unspoiled woodlands for hunting and camping, and the Three Lakes Wildlife Management Area, the second-largest remaining dry prairie in the country. At Three Lakes, visitors can enjoy hiking, biking, horseback riding, fishing, hunting, boating, camping, and so much more. Bounded by the Kissimmee River, Osceola County is home to many creeks and the Kissimmee Chain-of-Lakes, featuring some of Florida's most significant fishing and recreational spots.

There are currently 57 new housing developments throughout Osceola County, with most new neighborhoods located in the northwest portion of the county. 25 new home builders are constructing new homes in new subdivisions across Osceola and neighboring counties like Polk County, Lake County, and Orange County.
