I get it, Pulte is not a custom home builder but you are building new and the process of picking options was not smooth. Should use same checklist for everyone regardless of budget. Go over what’s included and what’s not. The materials for building the home were quality but the final fit and finish and what needed fixed was a hassle. Shannon our home counselor was wonderful. Field manager, Lloyd, did not respond to multiple requests to repairs items we discovered after moving in.

Make sure to review the options list thoroughly at the beginning of signing the purchase agreement. You don’t have long to Add or delete options. Be aware you can’t make changes throughout the build process.

People, workmenship, communication is good. Quality wise; material like paint, finishing can be improved. Design center collections are very expennsive.

The closing procedure had its hiccups to no fault of mine. I am still waiting to be contacted by Pulte's outside vendors to correct a couple issues. Pulte has responded and fixed what they could do. All in all, I love my home.

Quality seems a little above average, I am not unsatisfied but not fully satisfied. I understand that with new fast construction there's going to be issues. First, had concern when one of our paid upgrades wasn't implemented and we ended up having it removed as to not delay our closing. Beer bottles under our tub in the dirt, then my husband recently went in the attic and there was another beer can. It's going on two months since closing and still haven't received any follow-up call or email from Pulte asking if there are any issues. Our back fence is against the street and substantially lower than both our neighbors to the side of us. Many minor cosmetic issues with our upgraded cabinets, looks as if they were painted and paint didn't dry evenly (some areas looks scratchy). Our leftover paint that were left in the garage don't match our walls, andvwe had to purchase a can of paint which cost us alnost $50 to paint and do touch ups. It seems there's an issue with our cold water, it's more lukewarm or room temperatute and doesn't get close to getting cold, no matter how long you let it run. The standard carpet is hideous, if we would have known how cheap and unsightly it would look, we definitely would have upgraded. The upgrade for prewire was never completed because we had to call an outside party to finish the wiring. Our front door is chipped and we'll probably have to pay to replace it. ... More

We are generally satisfied. But Pulte as a company has communication issues with customers and within the organization as a whole. It is an absolute necessity for a new home buyer to stay on top of the entire home building process as much as possible and document everything (Special Requests, Exceptions, NSO's, etc.). We reported a dying tree 2 weeks after we closed and the Pulte Customer Service manager refused to address the issue first saying it was recovering from its cigar cut ( it was not) and then said it was our problem and the HoAs problem. He basically told me he would no longer answer any email regarding this issue. Ladies up front were hard to do get ahold of. Never replied, or IF they did it was DAYS later. The quality of stuff is nice.

When contacting customer care manager or office I’m always left feeling that I’m not important to them. Too much reliance on email communication and cell phone contacts should be mandatory. The basic tone is we’re here to help with issues but you’ll just have to wait until we get back with you and not how you would like (call) but how we like (email) especially when explicitly asking for a phone call when email is ineffective due to needing to discuss issue further. ... Pulte committed to the date of closure but last minute fixes were real sloppy and they punted those to warranty where the homeowner needs to chase and get this down. Quality of the work until the last month was good but bad planning and negligence during closure needs to be addressed. The RDU warranty are slow to act as it's been approaching a month and no word on timeframe to schedule and complete. Smooth process. Financed with Pulte Mortgage as well. Great 3% incentive. Builder hasn't responded well to issues we found after moving in; local field manager won't fix issues but keeps promising to come back.

I had a great construction manager during the construction of my home, but once his survey was done and initial issues were remedied, I was given a second manager who took over.
