Unfortunately Lennar is more focused on selling houses than building quality homes and providing good customer service. My closing date was moved up three weeks but my house had numerous items that needed to be fixed. I was assured they would be fixed after closing. Five months later, some of these items still haven’t been repaired. I submit warranty items that need to be addressed and nothing happens. Lennar eventually closes out the ticket like it’s been completed, but it hasn’t! This has happened numerous times so I eventually call customer service. It takes months to get things fixed. There needs to be better customer service (or quality control so there aren’t so many issues after closing). ... More

The building manager started out as a great asset to have in the area as we were moving in however, as time went on and more problems with the home occurred or cropped up he became less inclined to help or take responsibility for mistakes he had personally made; regarding our homes power and water supply line accounts in particular. I find this behavior to be inexcusable and completely unprofessional to not take responsibility for a mistake you made on a homeowner’s power supply application only to be made aware of it months after the homeowner had moved on, alert the homeowner that you were going to correct the issue and then proceed not to so that the homeowner then has to deal with complete loss of power and water because the accounts were never corrected. On days when it is 100+ degrees, it is not acceptable to not have any water or power supply and then be told by said building manager that it is not his job to call and correct the energy supply accounts; disregarding that he’d already said he would correct this exact problem three weeks prior. ... Once the agreement was signed it has been nothing but a hassle with Lennar. Homes are delivered with a “it’s good enough” standard. Communication is close to nonexistent and it’s a tough and long process to get them to do anything. I guess they are hoping people would give up and deal with things. Lennar is all about the quick turnover and sales. Not quality and customer service. Won’t recommend or buy a Lennar home ever again. ... More

The quality of the work is not acceptable for a new home. Baseboards are not cut and connected squarely. Door trim was cut too short leaving an ugly space between the bottom of the door trim and the flooring. In one case the entire door was installed too high, so now there is a 2 inch space under the door. Windows are crooked so that our blinds have to be installed crooked in the other direction to compensate. Bathroom tile installed crooked. Bottom master shower tile installed with sharp edges are felt on feet no matter where one stands. The paver walkway to our front door is installed crooked. There are gaps and openings between finished materials and the structure behind the finished materials. This is throughout the entire home where caulk should have been implemented to seal openings correctly. The exterior ground wasn't graded and compacted before sod was laid. The landscaping has pits throughout. The space for the refrigerator was built for a counter-depth refrigerator. The refrigerator Lennar provided protruded out of the wall almost 10 inches. We have had to spend additional time and money, which included $2,000 out of pocket for a counter-depth refrigerator. I have also heard that Lennar has also sold to investors at discounted price, and those investors are bringing in renters that may not be going through strong guidelines to protect the owners. Needless to say, I am extremely dissatisfied with my home purchase. I can now only hope that Lennar will go big with our amenities to help protect our investment. ... More

I believe that the actual foreman, Luke, whom I dealt with was not the initial lead for my home. He (and Kelly in the sales office) was a pleasure to work with and they were both very attentive with any matter I brought to their attention. Once I moved in, I noticed the quality of the build was not the “Lennar” quality I’ve come to expect from the homes my friends built with Lennar in Texas. Some of the issues I encountered are how loose my carpet is upstairs that I almost trip because of it, gaping 15 inch X 15 inch hole hidden behind my refrigerator that I only saw after we had a bad thunderstorm and checked all my outlets after power had been restored, touch up paint specs all over my floors, counters, light fixtures, etc. Anyhow, it’s not what I’ve come to expect after my own experience. Your warranty guy, David I believe, is no pleasure to deal with either. ... More

To begin with, we picked the house and lot so not a spec home. We were told we had time to add options so the day after signing we asked to add a laundry sink but was told we were too late for this request. Same thing for laundry cabinets! I blame this on the on-site agent giving wrong info. Apparently once you sign, you can’t make any changes so know what you want beforehand. Our house had a roof and almost to drywall before we had a single meeting with construction manager. I made them pause until we had a predrywall inspection done. It was given to the construction manager right afterwards and we asked to confirm receipt. A week later we have drywall now. So after MANY calls, emails, texts, he finally said he “completed” all the items on the report. Come to find out 2 months later, he admitted he never did anything with the report. Lennar’s way of fixing this situation was to give us our money back for the inspection. This did not make the displaced trusses or framing issues right!! After the final inspection, he said he would take care of everything on that report. We get to a week before closing and none of it was done so he had to delay our celebration meeting to 3 days before closing, which still a ton of items to be fixed. He asked if we were going to do a final walk which originally we did not have time for before closing but glad we made time because he did nothing on the list at that point. They scrambled to get them done before we recorded but did not. In hindsight we should have delayed closing!! He was the worst project manager and took zero ownership for his mistakes. Not sure how he still has a job!! Once we finally moved in, we found out our microwave did not work. Lights came on and seemed like it worked until you tried to heat something up. They made us go through appliance company to get fixed instead of taking care of it themselves. So for 2 months we did not have a working microwave. In short, I think a different construction manager would have made this experience better but Lennar should have taken some responsibility for his mistakes as he is an employee and representative of Lennar. ... Lennar uses 100s of contractors, so there is no accountability for work that will require follow-up once you actually own your home. The walls are thin and provide no sound proofing, this includes the thin aluminum windows that seep air/moisture. They use matte paint throughout, even in the kitchen and bathrooms. "Upgraded Cabinets" means they are white in color- they are made of soft wood that will show even slight dings from regular use. The bathtubs are made of plastic and carpet will look worn and tired after less than 6m, even if you do not have pets or children. However, I live in a beautiful home and cost was based on the desired location. ... More

Lots of rework and projects to be done by Lennar after move in.we had to each take so much time off of work well into two months to accommodate for things that should have been done.
