The Lennar home buying experience went well except for one thing. I had an unexpected medical issue and asked for an extension on the closing date. Lennar denied it and it almost cost me the home.

we moved in March 2018, so far we haven't had too many issues and when we do have issues they are looked and possibly resolved within 7 - 10 business days. We live on a Greenbelt and a development vacant lot that is supposed to be cleaned up - well the Greenbelt is a weed infested eye-sore the weeds/misc plants are as tall as the iron fence (5-5.5ft) and the vacant lot that is supposed to be grassed with sprinklers is a catch all for the construction workers for concrete, bricks and extra dirt from other areas - large dump trucks come and dump misc stuff and a small back hoe brings bricks, concrete chunks, etc...we have notified the sales office and the HOA office and still get the same answer "we are working on it" "we will keep you posted" -- so far nothing. ... My wife and I are enjoying our new home. After 6 months of living in it there are a number of things that could have been done better during the construction phase to lower the amount of repair tickets we have opened. Installing damaged trim for example could have been noticed up front. Door frames not square for another. Sometimes doing it right the first time lowers your overall expenses. The service after the fact by our customer service rep has been fantastic. The energy efficiency of the home through the hot summer months was better than expected. I do love our new home, but I must say they dropped the ball on the finish work. We love our home, but when you’re promised things and are told you’re under warranty you expect things that weren’t fixed to get done, but they don’t get back to you. That’s not good customer service.

We are very pleased with our Lennar home. The house is great so far. However, the community center is FAR too small for the number of homes. There will be about 400 homes but only space for a party of about 10-15 people. Lennar was too cheap to build a bigger, better center. We have also had many issues with the grass and land outside. The sod and front bushes were placed on rocks and are dying already (after only a couple months), but lennar doesn’t include the yard in their warranty. ... More

Great home for the price. Larry with Eagle Mortgage was outstanding, as was the onsite customer service staff. The staff that works with you to correct any issues during the walk through are awful. My suggestion is make all flaws found during walk through are corrected before you pay, otherwise good luck getting things corrected. The lawn and landscaping are terrible unless you like dead grass and lots of weeds. After 6 months of living there, I finally gave up hope on getting things corrected, so I did them myself. My property happens to be the end unit on the side of the busy road where cars come at 45 MPH. I have taken photographs highlighting the need of the fencing similar to the fencing adopted by neighbor communities in Amberley area who are on the same side of the busy road. I wrote a note to Lennar sales, Lennar land department.. still they are not addressed. Their say is, its not in the layout and cannot be actioned upon. I love my new home. Lennar had great floor plans and a variety of finishing options both inside and outside the home. Unfortunately there were some issues. Home itself was great. If you end up being a winter build, be ready to go through a maddening spring. If you close on your home in the winter, you do not get a driveway, sidewalk, or sod. This makes sense given the winter conditions. Here comes the fun part, so that Lennar can make its fiscal numbers, once spring comes, they prioritize their monthly closings first and the winter closings go to the bottom of the priority list for sidewalks, driveways, and sod. The have poor communication about this and try to avoid being straight forward about their practices, they just keep saying “soon” when you ask for updates. The end up laying the sod late in the spring and it doesn’t survive, but they don’t care because they checked the box. ... More

Very nice home the problem my family had was after they were done building they left a slope of dirt and an uneven backyard so we have to pay to get the whole backyard leveled they failed to say that we wouldn’t have a backyard and that it’s an additional $3,000 to level it that is the cheapest we have found.
