My home is plan 3, Craftsman model. It's beautiful inside out. However, there are few things that I am not very happy with. The electric power for bedroom outlets is only 15 Amps and this electrical rating is not supporting enough for my portable electric heater. Also, there is one electric breaker is handling for 3 rooms such as bedrooms 2 & 3 and a bathroom 2. I am not very happy with this issue. When I complained, KB authorized person said it's conformed with city code. There is nothing they can help. I want to split or separate the power for those rooms into individual power or circuit breaker. Each room should have its own circuit breaker. the quality and designs of new houses has been improved a lot, but there are still some rooms for KB home to further improve.

I like my new house and in general it's well built. However, I've had a couple of warranty issues that have been open for more than 2 months without being resolved.

I am happy with my purchase for the location I bought my home in. Only complain is about the finishing of my home. For the price I paid, I expected better value in things like thermostats, a very cheap COR thermostat is offered, and that cannot be changed if you don't want to void the warranty. Another thing I didn't like about KB is that, lack of hook ups for ceiling fans and in built speaker wiring system. This doesn't cost a lot, but we were not given any choice to upgrade too, as we bought the home little late in the process. KB has affordable houses and they are all very updated with new technology. However, things in my home were rushed and not done correctly. From un level windows and light-switches (yes noticeably crooked) to a water main bursting in the first two weeks. I do give KB kudos for actively fixing all the issues but still the headache of contractors coming in to my new home to fix things during COVID has been annoying. The customer service team is responsive and proactive because they know that the workers who built the homes did not do so to standard. All new homes have issues that need to be worked through understandably, and Gary (customer service guy) is great at assuring me things will be fixed. This is my first actual new home I’ve ever purchased. Prior to my purchase I had a used home that was made by KB when I lived in SoCal. I’ve never had any issues with that house that I previously lived in, and that was the main reason why I decided to make my first home purchase with KB. In my personal opinion it seems as if there has been a decline in the craftsmanship and focus on quality for my specific home I purchased. However, my property custom service is KB’s saving grace. The services I received was extremely unacceptable. Mistakes continued to happen not on my end but the sales office and design center. And everyone is extremely slow at handling issues. I have had to write several emails and make several phone calls for issues that are still not resolved. No one takes responsibility for the mistakes made and you bounced around. I would say if have a choice to pick a builder do not pick KB homes. I was also manipulated in giving a first good review that all of my homes issues would be resolved.
