Had to call twice now for breaker keeps blowing. Electrician keeps coming out saying there is no issues. So guess we will just have to get used to resetting the breaker.

we believe we made the right decision in choosing highland homes. The best thing is that they fixed, corrected all the items which were reported in inspection before the closing. Their work wise we don't have any problems, it might be too early to give a review bcos it takes more time for us to see if we have any concerns about the purchase. But we would definitely recommend other to highland homes. ... More

Workmanship and the quality of contruction not up to par. Small details out of places; such as, broken tiles, outlets not align, scratches doors, hard to open doors, yard work not ballance etc...

For a house of that value, one would expect to see higher quality fittings eg light, tiles and wooden cabinets. In addition a better utilization of the space especially to increase the size of the rooms. Carpets are no longer necessary in bedrooms due to allergy issues so could have been tiles or wood for the floors. ... More

We really liked HH (HighlandHomes) interior design and exterior design, which led us purchase the new-construction home. Sales experience was smooth and initial interaction (prior closing) with builder was nice as well. After moving into home, we opened more than expected warranty issues in first 2 months. We feel that HH is very strong in sales, interior/exterior design, overall home building standards, however we found that workers (i.e. contracting agencies doing actual work for HH) are rushing up and producing just okay. Electric/Lighting warranty issues are repeating several times. We hope that HH enforces contracting agencies to take ownership of faulty work and produce better quality home to customers. For only these reasons, I am reducing my rating for quality of workmanship & materials from 4 to 2, and Value for the price paid from 4 to 3. Builders are very responsive to warranty issues, we are still new to the home so we are hoping that warranty issues are resolved at customer's satisfaction. For new-construction home buyers, we would *highly* recommend buying Highland Homes over other builders for the value for the price paid. HH has improved very much in interior and exterior designs in last few years. Hope this review helps to both buyers and HH. ... More

My house is valued at $305,000. While that's not on the more expensive end of the spectrum of what homes can cost, it is still hundreds of thousands of dollars. I expected better quality workmanship in this home. The paint, the cocking, the cleaning, the baseboards, etc. are all consistent with what you would expect from a rented apartment. In fact, they remind me a lot of the apartments I lived in during my college days. For a house that I paid hundreds of THOUSANDS of dollars for, I expected better quality workmanship. ... More

We love our Highland Home! Everyone was wonderful in the process - we even did financing with them. Everyone was incredible... until we got to inspection time with our construction manager. He was remarkably unprofessional and dismissive. We still have items he promised to fix that are incomplete a month later. And we aren’t picky! His responses to us included “it’s just a spec home”, “I have a bajillion thing going on, so turn it in to warranties”, etc. We don’t even know what to do. (Note: we aren’t alone in our disappointment and frustration with Matthew). ... More

Make sure one ask questions about how do you (owner) make decisions on what customers want when it comes to master bath having a towel and linen rack when second bath has one, providing more room for master toilet, internet service, cable or direct TV. Making decision as to being upfront on informing us customers on all things important to us. Showing customer prices of incentives and allowing customers to be able to order all necessary. Walls are too thin no privacy. Providing pest control so they don't move in to ants, spiders because it seems as though you don't care. Be more concerned in customers to get higher ratings. This is for owner not construction manager because manage do what owner/builder wants done. ... More

I really like the home and overall it has good quality. There is one part which is not addressed properly. My master-bath granite counter-tops are really rough and does not look a quality product. I had raised this issue to all involved in the home process since the day it was installed, however, I was just told that this is how granite comes. I would really appreciate if they replace with better quality product. The construction manager was good overall. So far I have not seen any other issues. ... More

They'll overcharge you for upgrades. But realistically, adding ALL the upgrades only gets you to today's standard. Most of their basic fixtures and options are dated. Don't get me wrong, everyone is very nice, but these are cookie cutter homes with yesterday's design. It'll take a lot more investment to sell. ... More
