Construction manager, design consultant, and salesperson were on top of everything during the process. We love our new home and it was completed well within the timeframe that was promised. Our only complaint would be that the house was not completely clean at closing. Lots of drywall dust left around and the floors looked streaky. ... More

Build of the home went well. Drywall and paint finish had much to be desired!! Many defects throughout the home

House design/layout was exactly what our family wanted.

Our house was completed in the original estimated timeline. Our project manager, Thomas, was great and kept me updated throughout the process. I believe that because these houses are built so quickly caution is not taken to ensure things are as close to perfect as possible, which when you are spending this amount of money you would expect. We have noticed walls are not level and straight and at this point there is no fixing that. We have had other issues arise in the 2 months we have been living here also. Some of which have been addressed others are still out there lingering. Overall we are happy to be in our new home just be aware that if you are expecting top quality craftsmanship you will not get that here. At this point in time I can't say I wouldn't recommend Centex I would just caution buyers to think about their expectations when buying any tract built home. ... More

There are many pluses to our home. However, once we moved in we found that painting was poor, several doors did not close properly, there was no power to the kitchen island, the dishwasher did not work (a plug was never attached to the dishwasher), screens were missing, and there were rust marks on the concrete slabs from nails that were never swept up. I trust there will be other issues as the months pass. Our Field Manager from Pulte Homes is great! Unfortunately he does not have enough hours in a day to address issues tied to the 15+ homes that are either settling or are soon to settle. Once 30 days elapses the warranty requests are handled by a Pulte Homes Customer Care person and responsiveness is exceptional. So why the “Timing” subject? Our settlement date should have been pushed out one month. The Field Manager should be able to focus on confirming that everything is in working order and performing a detailed walkthrough prior to the buyer’s walkthrough. ... More

We love our home although it is frustrating out how most of the walls are not straight and most of the home does not seem very air tight as you can feel a draft at times. We are concerned about the flooring upstairs as it makes a lot of noise already and that seems to be a common concern through out the neighborhood. We have made a lot of upgrades on our own so we are happy with it. ... More

The only thing I am disappointed with is the fact that before we closed I felt that I would be supported and taken care of with any issues. That made me feel more comfortable. But after the closing I didn't feel the same way. We only had a few issues but the people they sent were not experienced. Did a hack job and my husband will need to fix. Didn't address the front door. Rain poured in the bottom. So I am assuming it is not sealed properly. The lawn is a big issue due to the fact it when on dormant and not watered. It did not root. We had been watering everyday but I think it is dead. Make sure when you buy a house that you get the attention you need. ... More

Overall I’m happy with the house. There has been a few issues but the builder has been easy to communicate with and almost everything has been fixed. My only complaint would be in the sales process the person in the office did not show me what was actually put in the house. I ended up with a lower grade different carpet and different fixtures in the bathrooms. I was shown a darker carpet and brushed nickel. Ended up with light carpet and chrome. And they did nothing about it. ... More

I was greatly disappointed with Centex. While the models of homes I saw seemed built to standard and maximum code, I quickly discovered this to be false. In the Month of November when I arrived to ensure the framing, and roughed in plumbing and electrical were to code I discovered that Centex hires subpar “contractors” who disregard building safety code. Upon my inspection I’ve found broken beams that the plumbers left compromising the structure of my home. The building manager at the time was Tim and I was disturbed to learn that he wasn’t planning on replacing the beams if I hadn’t discovered them. Once the broken beams were replaced, I moved on to the exterior sheathing of the house. It was to my dismay that I discovered 30 nail holes where the “framers” missed the beam. Once again Tim was not going to caulk these holes in order to prevent water infiltration into my home had I not insisted this be done. Any quality professional in the trade would know this a non-negotiable fix. My “final” walk thru was January 31st 2020. At the beginning of the walk I discovered the vinyl siding was wavy and bubbled. When I pointed this out to Tom the new building manager his response was “there is nothing I can do about that it’s the nature of siding.” This comment further solidified that Centex does not value industry standards and quality building. During the interior walk I discovered that the main wall in the great room was so bowed in the middle that when I placed a level on it I was able to rock it back and forth. When I showed Tom this, he used what would be his now standard line “there is nothing I can do about that.” I explained to him that I would not close on the house until everything was perfect. He quickly back peddled and said “I’ll talk to my boss.” During my walk of the kitchen I found that “contractors” drilled straight thru cabinet with a screw. I told Tom about this and he said “that’s how Centex does it.” I reiterated that I am not closing on the house until it is perfect. He once again said “I’ll speak with my boss.” As you can see my overall experience with Centex was poor and I would highly recommend new home buyers to avoid them. There is glimmer of hope, while the building standards were nonexistent, I must give recognition to our sales Rep Ivey. Ivey was extremely helpful and professional throughout the entire process. Ivey seems to be the only quality member of the Centex Team. ... More
