            Pelzer South Carolina is located in the United States' Anderson County. It started out as a textile manufacturing town in late 1880. Pelzer textile Manufacturing Company was the first in the United States to have incandescent lights. The town and company were ultimately named after Francis J. Pelzer who surveyed sites along the Saluda River. Ellison Adger Smith and William Lebby were also co-founders of the Pelzer Manufacturing Company
