Construction is solid. Materials generally good with a few exceptions. Would highly recommend upgrading the kitchen appliances. The Whirlpool models are terrible! Pay attention to the placement of the house on the lot & the spacing between houses. Don’t rely on what’s in the model home to make upgrade choices. Things change. Structured wiring for TV & security system is a good thing to do. CPI did a very good job & have been responsive. ... More

We love out home. However, completion date was four months after the date originally given to us. Reassignments of supervisory personnel caused confusion and miscommunication. During construction it delayed the completion by four months. We like the location and after we live here longer we would we able to respond more appropriately. ... More

I am giving the stars mainly because of Brent. He was the person that handled not only all of our problems but neighbors problems. The painters were horrible. The cleaners were horrible. Landscaping needs attention. It is obvious corners were cut. I have a million dollars in this townhouse and it is immaculate because I spent the extra money to make sure it was. I would have walked away from this deal if it weren't for Brent and Tom. And my neighbors feel the same. You missed the mark on upselling on a lot of things on the inside as well. I can show you if you want to come and visit. JW homes used to be top quality. I wish it were still that way. ... More

Perceived poor (disappointing) rests with executive management; stereotypical of trying to build too many homes in a compressed timeframe and then trying to close them out too fast (with insufficient and or stretched resources). Too many delays, changed schedules, obvious shortcuts and overall disappointing workmanship in multiple areas. I gave 4 stars on some metrics as a courtesy to those field managers that entered the picture at the tail-end as they are doing their best to pick up the dropped balls / issues they inherited. True experience was more like the 3 stars of the overall rating. ... More

For a million dollar home we were disappointed with the options at the design center. The subcontractors, in particular the electricians and painters as well as the quality paint used was not good. The quality of many of the materials was substandard as well. The doors are so flimsy you cannot event put a robe hook or towel hook in them. The staff on site were wonderful and very attentive with any issues that came up. JW Homes needs to step it up if they want to continue to build this in this price level. ... More

I was disappointed in the delays and initial build quality of my townhome. Most things have been remedied. I did not find the level of management above the onsite employees to be responsive. It was not the experience I expected from the John Wieland name. In the end, my home is functional and beautiful to walk through, but I cannot endorse the construction process or the company's handling of it. ... More

Builders did not pay attention to details for sheet rock, stairs and ceilings. And were unable to satisfactory correct after several attempts.

I had a wonderful experience when purchasing my home. Since closing, I have had multiple issues and the responses I’ve received have been poor at best. I’ve had to have the hot water heater fixed, the refrigerator replaced, 3 1/2 hours of work on July 4th done on the air conditioning unit, and the carpet in both the loft and one of my upstairs bedrooms is now coming a part “both areas are completely unused at the point”. Your emergency help line is completely worthless and I will not waste my time with that moving forward. I can honestly say, that I’m displeased with the experience since closing and I’m embarrassed that I referred a friend to purchase their new home with this group. I only hope they don’t have the same experience I’ve had since I closed! ... More

We have had leaking basement. Leaking irrigation system that cost us hundreds extra in water bill. Wood stairs that had spots on them. They tried to sand them and repaint them but still not great. Builder came across like he cared at first but didn’t repair things he said he would in the end. Grout in master bath was wrong color and now repair can’t be made because grout won’t match and they don’t know what color it is to match. Multiple cases where I stayed home for work to meet someone for repair and no one showed up or called. ... More
